These are two articles I wrote that give an indication of how this network developed, and also the national strategy towards musicians' health and wellbeing of which it's a part.
Beyond prevention is the paper I presented at the 2007 national conference of NACTMUS, which led to the approval by NACTMUS of a proposal to address the most urgent issues surrounding musicians' healthcare in tertiary institutions.
The subsequent Music Forum article
08_05_Taking pains_Music Forum.pdf (May 2008) outlines what happened since that NACTMUS conference - in particular, some pilot initiatives at Queensland Conservatorium.
Later in the year, I hope to present updates at both the Annual Conference of ASPAH (Australian Society for Performing Arts Healthcard), and also at the Musicological Society of Australia conference in a session on Musicians' Health with President of ASPAH Peter Bragge and Alexander Technique practitioner Ann Shoebridge.
